Products For Skin Prep

moisturizer (how to prep skin for makeup)

Use the moisturizer you have.

Moisturising is one of the ways on how to prep skin for makeup.

There exist many types of moisturizers like Cetaphil, simple, etc.

I got Cetaphil directly from Nigeria for 4800frs, but it was the smallest size of the product (sincerely it’s costly).

I will advise if you know where to buy cheaper and original moisturizer you can go ahead and get it.

Also, you can get an original moisturizer (known as Hyperbeauty) combined with sunscreen for 4000xaf at Bride and Glam located in Limbe at Newtown Upcarrstreet.

For more information, please check out this post on moisturizer

Primer (how to prep skin for makeup)

For your skin prep please use the primer YOU have at home.

For more information please check out this post on primer.

Sweat block (how to prep skin for makeup)

In addition, proceed with sweat block.

This step is totally optional and not compulsory.

Furthermore, this is another step on how to skin prep for makeup.

If you sweat on your face, or t-zone area then you should add sweat block to your skin prep.

You can get the cheaper (low end) product at Limbe Old Market for 2000xaf at Mami Nyanga

For the original (middle end) sweat block, you can buy at Bride and Glam Shop.

Setting spray

To seal all the skin prep products and further add hydration, finalise it by using setting spray.

Any setting spray you have can be used here.

Voila, you can now proceed with your makeup application process.

Skin Prep Process

1) Firstly, you begin by washing or cleaning your face with face wipes or using micellar water.

2) Secondly, you apply the moisturizer on your face using either a makeup brush or your clean fingers.

It’s important to apply moisturizer all over your face, especially under your eyes to add hydration and prevent creasing when makeup products are applied.

Also, when your face is properly hydrated it makes your makeup to sit and stay longer on your face.

Once your moisturizer is applied, you should allow it to dry off before proceeding to the next step.

To know when the moisturizer is dried, you can rub your fingers on your face and you will feel it tacky.

3) Thirdly, apply primer on t-zone, all over the face but NOT UNDER YOUR EYES, to keep it hydrated.

For those with oily skin it is important to know the type of primer suitable for you, please check out this post

Also, allow primer to dry off before proceeding to the next product.

4) Fourthly, apply sweat block on areas where you sweat.

Allow it to dry off.

5) Finally, spray your face with setting spray to seal all skin prep products and add hydration.

Bonus prep is moisturising lips either with balm or gloss.

This is a simple and straight forward process on how to prep skin for makeup.

Also, it is a practical skin prep formula.

There are many ways of how to do skin prep before makeup.

But I just shared a simple, affordable way on how to prep skin for makeup.

Also, these are the steps and products I use for my skin prep.
