How to make Makeup waterproof On Rainy Days /Season

In Cameroon, just like other East and Southern African countries, we deal with two seasons: dry and rainy/wet seasons.

Hence it’s important to know how to make makeup waterproof.

Presently we are in the rainy season. During this season for some of us who love looking snatched it’s important to know how to wear makeup, especially during rainy days.

Amazingly makeup brands have products to suit rainy days known as WATERPROOF.

However, not every lady might have the financial means to afford full-face waterproof makeup products aimed at serving her during the rainy season.

The reason for writing this post is to provide tips/answers for those who can’t afford a full set of water-proof products.

For effective result i had to carry out research and combine it with practicable tips I currently use that work, I will share this below:

So, Relax its BUDGET FRIENDLY .

Remember we are living our best life daily, irrespective of seasons. Okay, sweeties let’s begin with the TIPS…..

1)Bear in mind to wear light makeup

This point is applicable both in dry and rainy seasons.

Wearing minimal yet full face makeup is advisable because it gives your skin and pores the opportunity to breathe. Apply just the right amount of foundation (not too much), concealer etc.

2)Apply moisturizer first, then Primer

After cleaning your face with face wipes or micellar water.

Next up, is pampering your face with a moisturizer. Moisturizing is applied on the face during the rainy season as well, hence it should not be skipped.

Also, you are out to ensure your makeup is stays put and is waterproof, so apply your primer.

For those who have some money, (I think this an area where you can make some investment by getting a good face primer).

3)Use brow gel or Edge Control on top of brow pencil filling.

You can do this in two ways:

Firstly after filling the brows with an eyebrow pencil, conceal, and seal the brow filling with BROW GEL or EDGE CONTROL so that the brows stay put.

Option two, use the brow gel to fill in your brows according to their shape and then conceal.

I wish to say we are keeping this post budget-friendly, so please you must not use an expensive brow gel or edge control, use what you have or can afford.

The brow gel I presently use (Million Pauline) is 1000frs and it gives me good result.

4)Apply Concealer Before Eyeshadow

We apply this step during the dry season, the same should be done in the rainy season.

5)Use waterproof mascara and eyeliner

For my ladies on a budget, here is one area where you have to invest in waterproof mascara and eyeliner.

I got this blossom mascara at Bride and Glam in Newtown Up Carr Street (for both upper and lower lash) for 3500xaf.

6)Apply Foundation & Set Using Setting Powder

How do you apply foundation?

Apply foundation using a makeup sponge/beauty blender for long-lasting results.

Now, seal the liquid product with powder. Highlighting with setting/translucent powder.

Let’s Talk A Little Bit Of Sealant

Some brands have a product known as a (long wear sealant).

What is the Purpose of a sealant?

The purpose of the sealant/seal is to make non-waterproof products to be waterproof.

Different form of sealant include:

Firstly the sealant comes in the form of a dropper, and can be applied in the foundation, gel liner, or eyeshadow brush to make it waterproof.

Secondly, the sealant also comes in the form of a finishing spray (So Pro brand).

7)Matte Lipstick/Lipstain

Using matte lipstick/lip stain makes your lips to an extent water-resistant.

Presently in Cameroon lip gloss and balm can be used and wouldn’t bleed coz the humidity isn’t much.

This can be used to moisturize lips.

8)Setting Spray

Proceed with setting spray to remove all powdery effects.

Then go in with your finishing spray (this should be waterproof which will prevent your makeup from transferring.)

soo pro spray
seals makeup

Soo Pro (Seals makeup to prevent from transferring)

So, spray that look, with your finishing spray like the soo pro spray to prevent your makeup from transferring.

For those on a budget who don’t have a quality primer, waterproof foundation, or sealant, follow the tips above and try to avoid walking under the rain.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
