Hello Everyone, Welcome back to blog.
I know it has been quiet around here for a year and a half, but I’m officially back.
I have been away because, I had to focus on learning a creative skill (cinematography🎥).
But, before I go further I will give a brief description of what is cinematography? and roles of a cinematographer.
What is Cinematography?
According to American Film Institute “cinematography is the art and craft of capturing moving images using a film or digital camera. In narrative films and television shows, cinematography tells a visual story through light, color, choice of camera lens, the way the camera moves through the scene…”.
What does a cinematographer do/roles?
“The cinematographer or director of photography (DOP) is the person responsible for the recording of a film, television production, music video or other live-action piece. The cinematographer is the chief of the camera and light crew… they are normally responsible for making artistic and technical decisions…” states wikipedia.
Furthermore, I began learning cinematography in September 2024 at Pefti Film Institute and it has been both demanding and an enriching experience.
Also, I graduated in 2025❤❤.
After graduation it was mandatory to do internship so I did.
Took some months to do internship and volunteered for some projects to build my portfolio.
Am I done learning the art of cinematography? NO, ive literally just began, am at the beginning phase of this journey. To develop mastery requires years of practice and I take it One Day at a Time.
In addition, prior, God had birthed in my heart some years back the desire to learn this art (cinematography) and am elated to have commenced the journey.
I am more focused, intentional and purpose driven.
I have missed this space so much, glad to say welcome back to blog.
