It is crucial to know what primer goes with your skin type.

For Oily Skin Type you can use the following type of primer:

  •  For Oily skin type, it’s important to use an oil-free primer that hydrates simultaneously. This is because the hydration helps balance those oils so that much is not secreted.

Now lets brifely talk on different types of face primer:

Types of Primer

1) Matte Primer

A lot of us have heard of this primer. This primer is made up of silicone.

A silicone primer is mattifying, it sticks.

A mattifying primer when applied on face creates a smooth surface for makeup to be applied on, fills pores and holds your foundation and concealer in place.

They are best suited for oily skin type.

2) Hydrating Primer

Another name for this type of primer is called oil based primer.

In addition, It contains Moisturising ingredients like hyaluronic acid and antioxidants.  It is also a deeply nourishing primer.

This goes with dry skin.

3) Illuminating Primer

Furthermore, this primer functions like a silicone primer by giving your skin a smooth canvas.

It differs from a mattifying primer from the fact that when applied on face its glowy/shiny.

Then when you apply your foundation on top you get the glowy/ glass like effects.

It’s good for special events.

4) Colour Correcting Primer

Additionally, this type of primer is used when you have some skin tone challenges.

For example, It can be having dark purple circles under your eyes.

When you use a colour-correcting primer it will adjust any bad skin coloring.

Applying this primer on skin with a bad coloring doesn’t show underneath the foundation.
